Legal eagles drive charity efforts for hospice

Staff from one of East Lancashire’s largest law firms, Woodcocks Haworth & Nuttall, are getting in the swing for the firm’s annual charity golf day.

The event, now in its fifth year, aims to bring businesses together to raise vital funds for Rossendale Hospice and takes place on June 19 at Rossendale Golf Club.

Woodcocks Haworth & Nuttall raised over £5,000 for the hospice last year and staff expect this year’s event will prove even more successful.

Senior partner and head of the commercial dispute resolution team, David McCann, said: “As a firm committed to its community, we understand that the support Rossendale Hospice provides, has helped thousands of local people in need of care and their families and friends.

“The golf day event has become a permanent fixture in our calendar and we are hopeful that lots of other businesses will feel able to support the fundraiser by taking part this year.”
The hospice is a registered charity founded in 1988 and is based on Bacup Road in Rawtenstall, Lancashire. It was formed to provide free, holistic, palliative care for people diagnosed with cancer and other specific degenerative diseases.

Entry for the golf day event is £220 per team of four and there are a host of top prizes available for three winning categories; overall winner, nearest to pin and longest drive. A light lunch is provided before the start at 1.00pm and the event will culminate with an informal meal.

Places are limited but should you wish to enter a team or require further details, then please contact: Stacey McCann, Woodcocks Haworth & Nuttall – 0161 761 4611 or alternatively email stacey.mccann@woodcocks.co.uk.
