WHN Solicitors has helped make Christmas extra special for a range of local charities.

The law firm, which every year supports local charities close to staff members’ hearts, this year chose a number of good causes across the region to support.

Foster with Bury, an organisation which recruits foster carers for children of all ages in the town, was presented with a range of Christmas gifts by the law firm for the third year in a row.

Then the teams in Bury and Haslingden were out delivering selection boxes to Haslingden Community Centre and Bury Foodbanks. The Bury office will also be making a special donation to The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity, which works to help families living with childhood brain tumours and post-surgery disabilities, in place of a traditional Christmas party.

Community Solutions, an Accrington-based good cause which brings local people together with those who need support to improve their health, financial position and emotional wellbeing, was also supported. WHN donated a festive hamper for the charity’s festive raffle.

Staff at WHN also entered a special Christmas bake-off held by Lancashire charity Rossendale Hospice, which cares for patients and their families living with cancer and other life-limiting conditions. Entrants purchased a baking kit from the hospice then competed to create the best cake.

Sara Beaumont, a director at WHN Solicitors, said: “Our staff are always passionate about supporting local causes, and were determined that this year would be no different.

“The pandemic has meant many people have found the last nine months tougher than usual, and we’ve chosen some great charities to throw our weight behind.

“From choosing gifts for local foster children, to taking part in a bake-off, we’d like to thank so many people for doing their bit by getting involved in our fundraising activities, and hope that we’ve been able to make a difference to the communities in which we operate.”
