People suffering from the effects of domestic violence or abuse can now gain free legal advice on how to protect themselves and their families.
A fortnightly confidential legal clinic is being hosted by Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall solicitors starting on Thursday, October 17, at Back O’th Moss Community Centre, Peel Road, Heywood between 1-3pm.
One in four women experience domestic violence but issues can also affect men and children. The legal clinic will offer advice from experienced, specialist lawyers and explain victims’ legal rights on various forms of domestic violence including physical, financial and verbal abuse. The clinic will also help guide families where social services have become involved and care proceedings are actioned.
Emma Pike, solicitor at Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall, said: “Our dedicated and sensitive team of domestic violence solicitors can help people through each step of the legal process, ensuring victims have access to services that are able to help and support them during this difficult period.”
The clinics are free of charge and those wishing to attend have no need to book. For further information email email@example.com or call 0161 761 4611
